1. I quit my job, & joined the Antler VC accelerator - $8,000
I did not receive investment from Antler VC, But I was over the moon with paid pilot and buying signal - AND KEEPING ALL THE EQUITY in what had started to show up as a promising business!
2. I interviewed 100s of potential customers, identified their needs, and created code prototypes to gauge interest. - $0
This was a vital step to understand would actually become a product customers would want to pay money for I had 4 ideas:
- parenting social app
- diabetes care app
- founders jobs marketplace
- scalable digital sales platform - THIS WAS THE WINNER IDEA
3. This led to a paid pilot for one prototype, allowing me to further develop my idea - $8,000
I got paid to develop the 1st prototype for a business inside. It was not a great salary, but I was over the moon I was paid while pushing my idea further (and desperately needed the money too)
4. I secured additional clients across different pricing tiers, validating my model. $164,000
This was slow initially - while I validated a sales process
- I developed a PDF report that customers could buy
- This validated what they found most useful
- I developed a platform based on what they found most useful
- I found many amazing partners to help with sales
5. I attracted investment from the renowned Tiny Seed and hired a team to enhance sales and product development - $180,000
Once I had a bit of monthly recurring revenue from customer subscriptions - I applied for investment with the renowned organisation in US who understands deep tech
This was a huge win as they were so aligned with my technical background and solo-founder setup.
It made a HUGE difference.
6. I am in the process of increasing product value and number of businesses it helps, - $TBC
